Adult Skating Program - 2007/08
Our adult group consists of skaters with varied
skill levels. Some are putting on skates for the first time this year,
some are trying the same tests as the Starskate test stream and still
others are perfecting their doubles, axles and triple jumps. This year
we are offering two sessions.
Monday evenings from 8:30 to 9:20 for adults and
teens who wish to learn to skate. We enjoy the guidance, skill and good
humour of professional coaches who provide group lessons with
individual attention. The ice is divided into three sections. One area
is for the beginning skaters, one for those working on edges and turns
and finally one area for skaters working on Skate Canada skills and
dance patterns. This session is suitable for all levels of skaters with
special attention being paid to those just learning to skate. Hockey
helmets, knee and elbow guards are recommended for beginning skaters.
Capacity for this session is 25.
The second session is Sunday afternoons from 3:00
to 3:50. This program starts with a twenty minute conditioning period
led by a professional coach. The remaining half hour is for practice of
previously learned skills. Skaters will receive group and/or individual
coaching for this half hour period from our professional coach or
program assistant. This session is suitable for returning skaters who
wish to work on specialized areas of figure skating. Capacity for this
session is 15.
Our skating season runs from September through
April. If you would like further information please email me at lindaalbert@marchkanataskatingclub.com
